Sensi Smart Thermostats Named ENERGY STAR® Partner of the Year for 2021

ENERGY STAR recognizes Emerson's Sensi smart thermostat, the first-ever smart thermostat to win honor, for second consecutive year.



Sensi smart thermostats have received the 2021 ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year Award from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy for the second consecutive year. Emerson’s Sensi brand was the first smart thermostat to receive the honor in 2020.  

  

This award is the highest level of recognition by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and honors organizations that have made outstanding contributions to protecting the environment through superior energy efficiency achievements. 


ENERGY STAR Certified Sensi thermostats can save users about 23% of HVAC energy consumption by adjusting the temperature using flexible scheduling, remote access and geofencing. Sensi also offers a circulating fan feature that allows air to flow even when your HVAC isn't running.


In addition, Sensi delivers monthly usage reports that provide month-over-month comparisons of heating and cooling run times and average humidity levels unique to each home. The usage reports give users a clear picture of HVAC usage as well as helpful energy efficiency tips to save even more. 


Emerson partners with utilities across the United States to deliver energy efficiency programs and rebates for customers using Sensi thermostats. In addition, Emerson assists these utilities with demand-response programs through its Sensi smart thermostats, helping to reduce energy load on power plants during peak usage times to minimize impact on the grid.

 1Energy savings are calculated by comparing operation time for a nationwide sample of Sensi users with temperature adjustments averaging 4° in comparison to users with no adjustments. Savings vary based on equipment type/condition, insulation, climate & temperature adjustment size/frequency.
